A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled
"The state school aid act of 1979,"
(MCL 388.1601 to 388.1897l) by adding section 265f.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 265f. If a public university that receives an appropriation in section 236 ceases to provide student housing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legislature urges the university to refund to each student who otherwise would have been entitled to use that housing that portion of any housing credits used by, and boarding charges charged to, the student for the period during which the student otherwise would have been entitled to use that housing. As used in this section, "COVID-19 pandemic" means that term as described in Executive Order No. 2020-33.
