HOUSE BILL No. 5704

 

 

March 8, 2018, Introduced by Reps. LaFave, Lucido, Hornberger, Runestad and Glenn and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

     A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

 

"Public health code,"

 

(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 7524c.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 7524c. (1) A local unit of government shall not adopt,

 

enact, or enforce a local ordinance that in any manner regulates

 

the process for seizure and forfeiture of property subject to

 

seizure and forfeiture under this article.

 

     (2) As used in this section, "local unit of government" means

 

a city, village, or township.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
