HOUSE BILL No. 5662

     A bill to amend 1984 PA 431, entitled

 

"The management and budget act,"

 

(MCL 18.1101 to 18.1594) by adding section 261e.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 261e. (1) In addition to the requirements of section 261,

 

beginning October 1, 2014, the department shall issue directives to

 

require all bidders on state contracts to disclose whether they are

 

public officials.

 

     (2) As used in this section:

 

     (a) "Bidder" means 1 or more of the following:

 

     (i) If the bidder is an individual, bidder includes the bidder

 

and the bidder's spouse, and any person related to the bidder or

 

bidder's spouse within the fourth degree of consanguinity.

 

     (ii) If the bidder is a business, then any partner, officer,

 

director, or principal shareholder of that business and any person

 

related to that partner, officer, director, or principal

 

shareholder, within the fourth degree of consanguinity.

 

     (b) "Public official" means that term as defined in section 6

 

of 1978 PA 472, MCL 4.416.
