A bill to amend 1976 PA 399, entitled
"Safe drinking water act,"
(MCL 325.1001 to 325.1023) by adding section 7a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 7a. (1) In addition to the sampling and analysis of water
conducted under section 7, at least once every year, a supplier of
water that provides water to a hospital in this state shall collect
water samples from the hospital and have those samples analyzed in
the manner provided in section 7 for the presence of lead and all
other contaminants for which there is a state drinking water
standard. The results of that analysis shall be provided to the
department and to the hospital.
(2) As used in this section, "hospital" means that term as
defined in section 20106 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368,
MCL 333.20106.
