HOUSE BILL No. 5374

 

September 15, 2009, Introduced by Rep. Spade and referred to the Committee on Families and Children's Services.

 

     A bill to amend 1973 PA 116, entitled

 

"An act to provide for the protection of children through the

licensing and regulation of child care organizations; to provide

for the establishment of standards of care for child care

organizations; to prescribe powers and duties of certain

departments of this state and adoption facilitators; to provide

penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,"

 

(MCL 722.111 to 722.128) by adding section 4a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 4a. (1) Not less than 30 days before the department

 

issues a license or certificate of registration for providing child

 

care under this act, the department shall post a notice in the

 

office nearest to the location where the child care shall be

 

provided that it is issuing the license or certificate of

 

registration. The notice shall include, but is not limited to, the

 

name and address of the applicant and the contact information for


 

the department office that is issuing the license or registration,

 

including that department's address, telephone number, and

 

electronic mail address.

 

     (2) The notice required in subsection (1) shall also be

 

provided in both of the following manners:

 

     (a) By publishing in a newspaper published in the county where

 

the child care shall be provided. If no newspaper is published in

 

the county, the notice shall be published in a newspaper published

 

in an adjacent county.

 

     (b) By posting notice on the department's internet website.
