HOUSE BILL NO. 4765

A bill to amend 1965 PA 190, entitled

"An act to establish who is considered a veteran in this state; and to provide for a system of uniformity of service for veterans,"

by amending section 1 (MCL 35.61), as amended by 2016 PA 199.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1. For Except as otherwise provided in this section, for purposes of all acts of the this state relative to veterans, "veteran" means an individual who served in the United States Armed Forces, including the reserve components, and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. Veteran includes an individual who died while on active duty in the United States Armed Forces. Veteran does not include an individual convicted of a violation of the Michigan anti-terrorism act, chapter LXXXIII-A of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.543a to 750.543z.
