HOUSE BILL No. 4423

 

March 12, 2013, Introduced by Reps. Dianda, LaVoy, Ananich, Brinks, Singh, Smiley, Faris, Knezek, Greimel, Brunner, Hovey-Wright, Roberts, Banks, Brown, McCann, Townsend, Kosowski, Hobbs, Kandrevas, Tlaib, Driskell, Lamonte, Schor, Slavens, Lipton and Abed and referred to the Committee on Elections and Ethics.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled

 

"Michigan campaign finance act,"

 

(MCL 169.201 to 169.282) by adding section 55f.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 55f. (1) A member of the board of directors of a

 

corporation or joint stock company who affirmatively consents to an

 

independent expenditure by the corporation or joint stock company

 

that violates this act is subject to a civil fine of not more than

 

$1,000.00 for each violation.

 

     (2) A corporation or joint stock company shall annually notify

 

all members of the board of directors of the penalties they may be

 

subject to under this section.
