A bill to exclude ophthalmologists from attending health care professionals for purposes of section 28 of article I of the state constitution of 1963.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1. (1) As used in section 28 of article I of the state constitution of 1963, "attending health care professional" does not include an ophthalmologist.

(2) As used in this section:

(a) "Ophthalmologist" means a physician who specializes in ophthalmology.

(b) "Physician" means that term as defined in section 17001 or 17501 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17001 and 333.17501.
