HOUSE BILL No. 4048

 

 

January 18, 2017, Introduced by Reps. Graves, Hughes and Glenn and referred to the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs.

 

     A bill to amend 1885 PA 152, entitled

 

"An act to authorize the establishment of facilities for former

members of the armed forces of the United States in the state of

Michigan; to create funds; and to provide for the promulgation of

rules,"

 

(MCL 36.1 to 36.12) by adding section 11a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 11a. (1) Preference shall be given to employment of

 

veterans at any veterans' facility in this state.

 

     (2) The preference under subsection (1) does not apply to

 

employment contracts entered into before the effective date of the

 

amendatory act that added this section.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
