HOUSE BILL No. 4039

 

January 22, 2009, Introduced by Rep. Lori and referred to the Committee on Transportation.

 

     A bill to amend 1974 PA 300, entitled

 

"Motor vehicle service and repair act,"

 

by amending section 34a (MCL 257.1334a).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 34a. (1) Unless otherwise requested by the customer, the

 

requirement to furnish a written estimate shall does not apply to

 

repair work performed by a motor vehicle repair facility when the

 

total cost for services and parts is less than $20.00 $100.00.

 

     (2) Nothing in this section, or any other section, shall cause

 

any allows a repair facility to fail to furnish to the customer a

 

final invoice for the repairs performed and the parts supplied.
