HOUSE BILL No. 4032

 

January 22, 2013, Introduced by Rep. Geiss and referred to the Committee on Education.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 553b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 553b. (1) A school of excellence that is a cyber school

 

shall provide to the department and shall post and maintain on its

 

website, with a link from the homepage, all of the instructional

 

materials that it uses or has its pupils use as part of the

 

educational program offered by the cyber school. These

 

instructional materials shall include, but are not limited to, all

 

texts, worksheets, study aides, or similar material.

 

     (2) The department shall post on its website all of the

 

instructional materials received from cyber schools under

 

subsection (1) and shall notify all public and nonpublic schools in

 

this state of the availability of these instructional materials.
