2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Velma M. Ambrose of Carlinville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 3, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was born in West Memphis, Arkansas | ||||||
6 | to Homer and Jessie Paris Harding on January 1, 1920; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Scottville High School in 1938 and married Coy | ||||||
8 | Wayne Ambrose in Bowling Green, Missouri on February 17, 1943; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose helped prepare taxes in the | ||||||
11 | Scottville area for many years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was a longtime 4-H leader and taught | ||||||
13 | many area youngsters how to sew; she enjoyed painting, sewing, | ||||||
14 | and spending time with her family; she was active in the Home | ||||||
15 | Extension Project for several years; she was a member of the | ||||||
16 | Scottville Christian Church; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was preceded in death by her | ||||||
18 | husband, Coy; her parents; her sister, Elden Patterson; and two | ||||||
19 | brothers; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose is survived by her daughter, Janet |

1 | (George) Dixon; her sons, David (Patty) Ambrose, and Terry | ||||||
2 | (Lana) Ambrose; her grandchildren, Todd and Matt Dixon, Wade | ||||||
3 | and Ryan Ambrose, and Lisa Templeton; 11 great-grandchildren; | ||||||
4 | five great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Carroll | ||||||
5 | Woolfolk; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Velma M. Ambrose, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Velma Ambrose as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
