SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Kenneth Bernard Wanagas of Spring Grove,
who passed away on October 5, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was born on July 7, 1952 in
Chicago; his parents were Bernard and Lena Wanagas; he married
Doris Green on October 14, 1972 at St. Gilbert Church in
Grayslake; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was a self-employed land
surveyor; he and his wife were the proprietors of Peppermint
Preschool in Spring Grove for 11 years and of the Peppermint
Stick Preschool in Antioch from 1990 to 2005; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas earned his pilot's license in 1981
and loved flying his Cessna airplane; he also loved sailing and
boating on the Twin Lakes in Wisconsin, fishing, traveling,
fixing things, photography, and spending time with his family;
and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was preceded in death by his
parents and his brother, John Wanagas; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas is survived by his wife, Doris;

his children, Rebecca Wanagas, Renee (Ernie) Luczkowski, Marc
Wanagas, and April Wanagas; his grandchildren, Emma, Victoria,
and Christopher; his sisters, Caryle (Jeff) McCaffrey and Mary
(Richard) Nahrstadt; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth Bernard
Wanagas; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Kenneth Wanagas as an expression of
our sympathy.
