2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Kenneth A. "Kenny" Powell of Colona, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 25, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Powell was born in Atkinson to Emmett and | ||||||
6 | Frances (Keemle Floming) Powell on February 17, 1941; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Atkinson High School and served in the United | ||||||
8 | States Navy as a Seaman First Class; he married Cheryl "Cheri" | ||||||
9 | Beaird in Rock Island on May 14, 1971; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Powell was a forklift operator for Case-IH | ||||||
11 | in East Moline for over 30 years, retiring in 1992; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Powell was a member of United Auto Workers | ||||||
13 | #1304 in East Moline; he was a 32nd degree Mason with Moline | ||||||
14 | Lodge #1014; he was a member of the Colona American Legion Post | ||||||
15 | #1233 for 37 years; he enjoyed taking care of his yard, going | ||||||
16 | for walks, and riding his bike; he looked forward to meeting | ||||||
17 | with his coffee group at the Doughnut Shop and his friends at | ||||||
18 | the American Legion; and

19 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Powell was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents; his son, Timothy Powell; and his brother, Bill Powell; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Powell is survived by his wife, Cheryl; | ||||||
2 | his daughter, Maria Powell; his grandchildren, Anna Marolf and | ||||||
3 | Timothy Marolf; and his sister, Roseann Powell; therefore, be | ||||||

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Kenneth A. "Kenny" Powell, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
8 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
9 | it further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
