| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Donald A. "Rudy" Rudat, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on September 14, 2016 at the age of 83; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was born on September 17, 1932 on the | ||||||
6 | Rudat Farm Property in Crystal Lake; his parents were Fred | ||||||
7 | Rudat, Sr. and Augusta Rudat; he married Donna Nitz on April | ||||||
8 | 30, 1960; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade | ||||||
10 | School and graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in | ||||||
11 | 1950; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat served in the United States Marine | ||||||
13 | Corps from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat worked for Inland Supply, Paragon | ||||||
15 | Supply, and Crawford Supply in the plumbing, heating, and | ||||||
16 | cooling industry in Elgin for 57 years until his retirement in | ||||||
17 | March of 2007; he also served as Executive Director of the | ||||||
18 | Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - Elgin and Vicinity for | ||||||
19 | 20 years; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was a member of Immanuel Lutheran |

1 | Church in Crystal Lake and served on many boards and | ||||||
2 | committees; he served on the City of Crystal Lake Fire and | ||||||
3 | Police Commission for over 20 years; he established the Teen | ||||||
4 | Table Talks Program and enjoyed working with church teens and | ||||||
5 | volunteering for PADS, making French toast and sausage for | ||||||
6 | patrons; he was also a volunteer at the Crystal Lake Food | ||||||
7 | Pantry until July of 2015; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat enjoyed gardening, working in the | ||||||
9 | yard, walking his dogs, watching the birds, and keeping the | ||||||
10 | squirrels away from his feeders to no avail; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
12 | his sisters, Viola Meier, Marjorie Frisch, and Nancy Rudat; and | ||||||
13 | his brother, Fred Rudat, Jr.; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Donald Rudat is survived by his wife, Donna; his | ||||||
15 | children, Donette (Brian) Beattie, Donald A. Rudat, Jr., Todd | ||||||
16 | (Sheila) Rudat, and Beth (Edward) Devaney; his grandchildren, | ||||||
17 | Tristan, Trevor, and Trey; and many nieces and nephews; | ||||||
18 | therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
21 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald A. "Rudy" | ||||||
22 | Rudat; and be it further
