SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Del W. Felger of Moline, who passed away
on December 12, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Del Felger was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to
Delbert A. and Elna Murphy Felger on December 14, 1936; he
graduated from Norfolk High School in 1955, where he was
captain of the basketball team; he married Janice Ehrichs in
Norfolk on October 3, 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy from
1956 to 1960; and
WHEREAS, Del Felger worked as an electrician at the Rock
Island Lines and later at International Harvester Case IH for
25 years; he retired in September of 1993; and
WHEREAS, Del Felger had a passion for basketball and other
sports; he was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football
team; he was a skilled handyman and enjoyed trips home to
Norfolk, boating with friends, time outdoors, cats, and drives
through the country with Jan; and
WHEREAS, Del Felger was preceded in death by his parents;
and

WHEREAS, Del Felger is survived by his wife of 62 years,
Jan, and his children, Donald (Theresa) Felger, Gordie Felger
(Kristen Aller), and Vickie Felger (Eric Brown); therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Del W. Felger and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Del Felger as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
