| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Robert "Bob" "Sterny" V. Sternberg of | ||||||
| 4 | Marengo, who passed away on July 15, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg was born on May 6, 1943 in | ||||||
| 6 | Belvidere; his parents were Victor and Ethel Sternberg; he | ||||||
| 7 | married Roberta Ackman on February 17, 1968 at Zion Lutheran | ||||||
| 8 | Church in Marengo; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg attended Harmony Grade School | ||||||
| 10 | and was a 1962 graduate of Marengo Community High School; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg retired as a foreman for the | ||||||
| 12 | McHenry County Highway Department after 32 years of service; he | ||||||
| 13 | enjoyed farming in the area for many years and talking with his | ||||||
| 14 | friends at his vegetable stand; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg was active at Zion Lutheran | ||||||
| 16 | Church as head usher, Elder, and a member of numerous | ||||||
| 17 | committees; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | parents; his brothers, Martin and David; and his sister and | ||||||
| 20 | brother-in-law, Rebecca (Robert) Dovich; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Robert Sternberg is survived by his wife, Roberta; | ||||||
| 2 | his daughter, Robin (Gordon) Shetley; his grandson, Brendan | ||||||
| 3 | Shetley; his step-granddaughter, Madison Shetley; and many | ||||||
| 4 | special friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" "Sterny" | ||||||
| 8 | V. Sternberg; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Robert Sternberg as an expression of | ||||||
| 11 | our sympathy.
