| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Sheldon Lovinger, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | October 3, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was born in Scranton, | ||||||
| 6 | Pennsylvania to William and Evelyn Lovinger on December 31, | ||||||
| 7 | 1927; he graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1945 | ||||||
| 8 | and then studied at the University of Wisconsin in Madison; he | ||||||
| 9 | served in the U.S. Army; he was the former spouse of Connie | ||||||
| 10 | Lovinger; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger worked with his father at | ||||||
| 12 | Lovinger's Store for Men on Genesee Street before joining him | ||||||
| 13 | in their new venture, Lovinger Real Estate; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was an active member in his | ||||||
| 15 | community; he served as president of the Lake County Shrine | ||||||
| 16 | Club, the Waukegan City Club, the Lake County Board of | ||||||
| 17 | Realtors, Bnai Brith, the Jack Benny PTO, and the North Shore | ||||||
| 18 | Tennis Association; he was a longtime member of the Glen Flora | ||||||
| 19 | and Mission Hills Country Clubs, where he enjoyed many rounds | ||||||
| 20 | of golf, including a hole-in-one; playing gin rummy with the | ||||||
| 21 | guys in the locker room was his favorite pastime; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was a longtime member of | ||||||
| 2 | Congregation Am Echod; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger is survived by his sister, Joan | ||||||
| 4 | Shaugnessy; her daughters, Marcia L. Battista and Diane C. | ||||||
| 5 | Wendricks; his son, Jeffrey; eight grandchildren; and five | ||||||
| 6 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Sheldon Lovinger and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 11 | further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Sheldon Lovinger as an expression of | ||||||
| 14 | our deepest sympathy.
