2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Karen Luster-Lockhart of Chicago, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 3, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart was born in Chicago to | ||||||
6 | Stephen and Josie Luster on May 6, 1972; she received her | ||||||
7 | elementary education from St. Sabina Academy in Chicago and | ||||||
8 | graduated from Hirsch Metropolitan High School in 1990 as the | ||||||
9 | valedictorian; she attended the University of Illinois | ||||||
10 | Urbana-Champaign; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart worked as the Director of | ||||||
12 | Marketing for her family business, Essations, Inc.; she later | ||||||
13 | became a licensed esthetician, graduating from the Paul | ||||||
14 | Mitchell Skin Academy; in June of 2015, she opened Heaven's | ||||||
15 | Sanctuary; and

16 | WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart married Isiah "Zeke" | ||||||
17 | Lockhart on August 31, 2003; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart is survived by her husband, | ||||||
19 | Isiah; her children, Kyla and Isiah Jr.; her parents; her | ||||||
20 | siblings, Stephanie (Brandon), Stephen, and Christal; her | ||||||
21 | grandfather, Joe; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, |

1 | cousins, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Karen Luster-Lockhart, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
5 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Karen Luster-Lockhart as an | ||||||
