SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Linda Swanson of Waukegan, who passed
away on September 26, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Linda Swanson was born to Frederick James Sr. and
Johanna (Roper) Stefanowski on November 13, 1945; and
WHEREAS, Linda Swanson worked in retail and in childcare at
Great Lakes Naval Base; and
WHEREAS, Linda Swanson loved babies, and frequently
dressed up as Cat in the Hat from Dr. Seuss for them; and
WHEREAS, Linda Swanson is survived by her husband of 50
years, Charles O. Swanson; her daughter, Tammy (Gurney)
Hightower; her son, David (Melissa) Swanson; her
grandchildren, Michael Chase, Samantha (Robert) Velez, Ariana,
Dominic, and Maxwell Swanson, and Jesse, Angel, Marielena, and
Adam Aranda; her great-granddaughter, Jayla Chase; her
brothers, Frederick Stefanowski Jr., Robert Stefanowski, and
Dennis (Pam) Stefanowski; and many nieces and nephews;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Linda Swanson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Linda Swanson as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
