| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Dennis Cooper, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | September 16, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper was born on June 12, 1943 in | ||||||
| 6 | Sturdivant, Missouri; his parents were Howard and Georgia | ||||||
| 7 | Cooper; he married Sandra "Sandi" L. Clapp on July 20, 1963 at | ||||||
| 8 | the Cottage Hills Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper and his wife were the owners and | ||||||
| 10 | operators of Geno's 140 Club in Bethalto from June 20, 1983 | ||||||
| 11 | until his passing; he was also president of the Illinois | ||||||
| 12 | Licensed Beverage Association for six years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper enjoyed traveling, seeing his | ||||||
| 14 | friends, and spending time with his family; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 16 | parents; his wife, Sandra; his brothers, Jerrold, David, and | ||||||
| 17 | Michael Cooper; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Cooper; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper is survived by his sons and | ||||||
| 19 | daughters-in-law, Cord and Kelly Cooper and Shane and Stacy | ||||||
| 20 | Cooper; his grandchildren, Meaghan (Chris) Kearbey and | ||||||

| 1 | Caitlyn, Jordan, Dylan, and Wyatt Cooper; his | ||||||
| 2 | great-grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Clayton, Machayla, and | ||||||
| 3 | McKenna; his brothers and sister-in-law, Garry and Rose Cooper | ||||||
| 4 | and Dawson "DM" Cooper; and several nieces and nephews; | ||||||
| 5 | therefore, be it

| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 8 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dennis Cooper; and be | ||||||
| 9 | it further
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to the family of Dennis Cooper as an expression of | ||||||
| 12 | our sympathy.
