2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gerald R. "Jerry" Ross of Gillespie, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 7, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gerald Ross was born on February 24, 1928 in | ||||||
6 | Carlinville; his parents were Theodore Ross and Colette | ||||||
7 | McChesney Ross; he married Nancy Jeanne Ross on May 12, 1950 in | ||||||
8 | Gillespie; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Gerald Ross served in the United States Navy from | ||||||
10 | 1946 to 1948; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Gerald Ross retired after serving as a lab | ||||||
12 | technician for Shell Oil for many years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Gerald Ross was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
14 | his wife, Nancy; his brother, Theodore "Bud" Ross; and his | ||||||
15 | sister, Colette Kretsinger; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Gerald Ross is survived by his children, Jerry R. | ||||||
17 | (Kimberly) Ross, Jeffrey M. (Lee) Ross, and Jay T. Ross (Ann | ||||||
18 | Marie Bauer); his grandchildren, Eric (Jen) Ross, Chad (Lisa) | ||||||
19 | Ross, Shelby Ross, Jeremy Ross, Joshua (Amanda) Ross, Jessica | ||||||
20 | Ross, and Gary Thomas Bauer Ross; nine great-grandchildren; his |

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
5 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald R. "Jerry" | ||||||
6 | Ross; and be it further
