| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Herbert A. Cope Jr. of Alton, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on November 3, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Herbert Cope was born in Wood River to Herbert A. | ||||||
| 6 | Sr. and Betty Lou (Keel) Cope on April 27, 1952;
he married Jo | ||||||
| 7 | Ann Carroll in Godfrey on November 23, 1970; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Herbert Cope was an owner and operator of Cope and | ||||||
| 9 | Sons Asphalt and Sealing; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Herbert Cope enjoyed puzzles, camping, fishing, | ||||||
| 11 | tinkering, and spending time with his family; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Herbert Cope was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
| 13 | Herbert Cope Sr.; his sister, Deborah Sitton; and his grandson, | ||||||
| 14 | Nathan Colonna; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Herbert Cope is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cope; | ||||||
| 16 | his children, Tabitha Cope (Kyle Stevens), Sabrina Schwegel | ||||||
| 17 | (Mark), and Herbert Cope III (Pam); 10 grandchildren; 11 | ||||||
| 18 | great-grandchildren; his mother, Betty Lou Cope; and his | ||||||
| 19 | brother, Danny Cope (Annetta); therefore, be it

| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 3 | Herbert A. Cope Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
