2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Arthur Walker of Lake Bluff, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on July 30, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker was born on September 1, 1937 in | ||||||
6 | Waukegan; his parents were Paul Walker and Wanda Hanzel Walker; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker attended Holy Family Church and | ||||||
9 | School in North Chicago and Waukegan and North Chicago High | ||||||
10 | Schools; he later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice | ||||||
11 | from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker served in the United States Army | ||||||
13 | from 1957 to 1960; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker worked as a police officer for the | ||||||
15 | City of Lake Forest for over 10 years until March of 1975, when | ||||||
16 | he accepted the newly-created position of Chief Investigator | ||||||
17 | for the Lake County State's Attorney's Office; his first duty | ||||||
18 | while working for State's Attorney Jack Hoogaisian was to | ||||||
19 | establish a complete criminal investigative unit; within 30 | ||||||
20 | days, the unit was in place and it remains in operation today; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker is preceded in death by his second | ||||||
2 | wife, Nicki M. Walker; his parents; his sister, Bernadette | ||||||
3 | Walker Maloney; and his dogs, "Bing" and "Butler"; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker is survived by his wife, Elena | ||||||
5 | Walker; his daughters, Maria Walker Robinson (Raymond), | ||||||
6 | Kathryn Walker-Eich, and Betsey Walker; his sons, Paul (Pamela) | ||||||
7 | Walker and John Walker; eight grandchildren; and several | ||||||
8 | nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
11 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Arthur Walker; and be | ||||||
12 | it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Arthur Walker as an expression of | ||||||
15 | our sympathy.
