2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Louise Lockett Johnson of East St. Louis, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on May 24, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Louise Lockett was born in Scooba, Mississippi to | ||||||
6 | Fleix and Zubie Lockett on February 12, 1927; she completed her | ||||||
7 | education in the public school system in Scooba, Mississippi; | ||||||
8 | she married Charles Johnson Jr. on June 22, 1949; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Louise Lockett committed to her faith at an early | ||||||
10 | age; she was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, | ||||||
11 | where she served as an usher for many years; she was a longtime | ||||||
12 | resident of East St. Louis; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Louise Johnson was preceded in death by her | ||||||
14 | parents; her husband, Charles; her son, Monroe Johnson; her | ||||||
15 | stepdaughter, Leatha Cook; her five brothers; and her two | ||||||
16 | sisters; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Louise Johnson is survived by her daughter, Darla | ||||||
18 | Johnson; her sons, Suskins (Jose) Lockett, Leslie (Demetria) | ||||||
19 | Johnson, and Marcus (Rondlyn) Johnson; her devoted grandson, | ||||||
20 | Dustin Griffin; her twenty grandchildren; her twenty seven | ||||||
21 | great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews, and |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Louise Lockett Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
5 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
