| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Melvin J. Toyra of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 20, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Melvin Toyra was born in Negaunee, Michigan on | ||||||
6 | April 14, 1932; he moved to Waukegan in 1950, where he remained | ||||||
7 | a longtime resident; he served in the United States Army from | ||||||
8 | 1952 to 1954; he married Charlotte Johnson on April 25, 1953; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Melvin Toyra retired from Johns Mansville in 1994, | ||||||
11 | after 40 years of service; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Melvin Toyra was a member of the Homer Dahringer | ||||||
13 | American Legion Post 281, Chain O'Lakes Model A Club, and the | ||||||
14 | 2E Wisconsin Antique Power and Collectibles Society; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Melvin Toyra was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
16 | Charlotte, and his parents; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Melvin Toyra is survived by his children, Robert | ||||||
18 | Toyra, David (Patricia) Toyra, and Peter Toyra; his grandsons, | ||||||
19 | Sean, Thomas, and Colin Toyra; his brothers, Richard (Nancy) | ||||||
20 | Toyra and William Toyra; and several nieces and nephews; |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Melvin J. Toyra, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Melvin Toyra as an expression of our | ||||||
9 | deepest sympathy.
