SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stephen M. Berg of Rock Island, who
4passed away on September 19, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Stephen Berg was born in Milan to Norman R. and
6Betty J. Hall Berg on December 18, 1949; he served in the U.S.
7Marine Corps and married Dorothy Boddie in Las Vegas on April
821, 1991; and
9 WHEREAS, Stephen Berg worked as an electrician for 35 years
10at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline; and
11 WHEREAS, Stephen Berg enjoyed helping the less fortunate,
12especially around the holidays; he loved traveling and camping
13and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and St. Louis
14Cardinals; and
15 WHEREAS, Stephen Berg was preceded in death by his father,
16Norman Berg; his daughter, Jessica M. Beinke; his sister, Diane
17Berg; and his brother, Robbie Berg; and
18 WHEREAS, Stephen Berg is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his
19children, Amanda (Kevin) Greer, Kristy (Barry) Peiffer,
20Stephanie (Brandon) Ross, Stephen Berg, and Shane J. Benedict;

111 grandchildren; his mother, Betty J. Berg; and his siblings,
2David (Candice) Berg, Kevin J. Berg, Martin W. Berg, and
3Kristine M. (Jim) Crouch; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Stephen M. Berg and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Stephen Berg as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
