2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of LaVerna Stone of Johnsburg, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on August 5, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, LaVerna Stone was born in Johnsburg on the Peter | ||||||
6 | F. Freund Dairy Farm to Peter F. and Susie (Miller) Freund on | ||||||
7 | September 15, 1923; she married John Stone at St. John the | ||||||
8 | Baptist Catholic Church on September 1, 1951; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, LaVerna Stone worked in the white room of her | ||||||
10 | father's dairy farm and enjoyed giving the neighborhood | ||||||
11 | children rides on her pony, Spotty; she then worked at Oaks | ||||||
12 | Manufacturing Company in Crystal Lake; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, LaVerna Stone was a lifelong member of St. John | ||||||
14 | the Baptist Catholic Church; she enjoyed dancing to 15-piece | ||||||
15 | bands, especially at Nels, the Fox Hole, and the Lake Geneva | ||||||
16 | Belvidere; and

17 | WHEREAS, LaVerna Stone was preceded in death by her | ||||||
18 | husband, John; her parents; and her sisters, Viola (Robert) | ||||||
19 | Snyder, Alice (Robert) Wilke, and Caroline (Everett) Thomas; | ||||||
20 | and

1 | WHEREAS, LaVerna Stone is survived by her niece, Susan | ||||||
2 | (Jim) Geisler; and her many grandnieces and grandnephews; | ||||||
3 | therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | LaVerna Stone and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | ||||||
7 | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of LaVerna Stone as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
