2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Rosemary "Rosie" Shea, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | May 22, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was born in Moline to Patrick and | ||||||
6 | Lucienna Quigley on April 11, 1932 and raised in Davenport, | ||||||
7 | Iowa; she attended Sacred Heart School and was part of the ICA | ||||||
8 | graduating class of 1950; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea worked at the College of St. Francis | ||||||
10 | and spent a great deal of time volunteering at the Daybreak | ||||||
11 | Shelter; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was a longtime member of St. | ||||||
13 | Patrick's Parish in Joliet; she enjoyed spending time with her | ||||||
14 | family and friends; one of her favorite traditions was the 22 | ||||||
15 | summers she spent in Union Pier, Michigan on the lake with her | ||||||
16 | family; she also enjoyed attending family sporting events and | ||||||
17 | activities for all of her children and grandchildren; some of | ||||||
18 | her favorite times were spent at the Braidwood Recreational | ||||||
19 | Club; and

20 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was preceded in death by her | ||||||
21 | parents, and her brother-in-law, Jim Shea; and

1 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea is survived by her husband of 60 | ||||||
2 | years, Gene Shea; her children, Debbie (Mike) Wittmann, Mike | ||||||
3 | (Roxanne) Shea, Teresa (Brent) Ostoich, Dave (Rita) Shea, Jeff | ||||||
4 | Shea (Sullivan Hester), Kathy (Bill) Duffy, John (Amy) Shea, | ||||||
5 | and Karen (Mike) Sheppard; her grandchildren, Michael, | ||||||
6 | Colleen, and Kathleen Wittmann, Megan, Kelly, and Ryan (Sofia | ||||||

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | Rosemary "Rosie" Shea, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
18 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
19 | further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Rosemary Shea as an expression of | ||||||
22 | our deepest sympathy.
