SENATE RESOLUTION
2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the College and Career
4Interest Task Force is created to determine the process by
5which Illinois public high school student college or career
6interest data may be collected and shared amongst public
7institutions of higher education; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall consist of the
9following members:
10 (1) One member from each of these public universities,
11 appointed by the board of trustees of the university:
12 a. Chicago State University;
13 b. Eastern Illinois University;
14 c. Governors State University;
15 d. Illinois State University;
16 e. Northeastern Illinois University;
17 f. Northern Illinois University;
18 g. Southern Illinois University Carbondale;
19 h. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville;
20 i. University of Illinois at Chicago;
21 j. University of Illinois at Springfield;
22 k. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and
23 l. Western Illinois University;
24 (2) One member from the Board of Higher Education,

1 appointed by the Board;
2 (3) One member from the Illinois Community College
3 Board, appointed by the Illinois Community College Board;
4 (4) One member from the Illinois Student Assistance
5 Commission, appointed by the Illinois Student Assistance
6 Commission;
7 (5) The State Superintendent of Education, or his or
8 her designee;
9 (6) One member representing regional offices of
10 education, appointed by the head of a statewide
11 organization that represents regional superintendents of
12 schools;
13 (7) One member representing school boards, appointed
14 by the head of a statewide organization that represents
15 school boards;
16 (8) One member representing school principals,
17 appointed by the head of a statewide organization that
18 represents principals;
19 (9) One member representing school administrators,
20 appointed by the head of a statewide organization that
21 represents school administrators;
22 (10) One member representing teachers, appointed by
23 the head of a statewide organization that represents
24 teachers;
25 (11) One member representing teachers, appointed by
26 the head of a different statewide organization that

1 represents teachers;
2 (12) One member representing teachers, appointed by
3 the head of an organization that represents teachers in a
4 city having a population exceeding 500,000;
5 (13) One member representing a school district
6 organized under Article 34 of the School Code, appointed by
7 the Chief Executive Officer of the school district;
8 (14) One member representing large unit districts,
9 appointed by the head of an organization representing large
10 unit districts;
11 (15) One member representing high school districts
12 represented by the head of an organization that represents
13 high school districts;
14 (16) One member representing suburban school
15 districts, appointed by the head of an organization
16 representing suburban school districts;
17 (17) One member representing south suburban school
18 districts, appointed by the head of an organization
19 representing south suburban school districts;
20 (18) One member representing a statewide organization
21 focused on research-based education policy to support a
22 school system that prepares all students for college, a
23 career, and democratic citizenship, appointed by the head
24 of the organization; and
25 (19) One member representing an education advocacy
26 organization that works with parents or guardians; and be

2 RESOLVED, That members of the Task Force shall serve
3without compensation; the Board of Education shall provide
4administrative and other support to the Task Force; and be it
5further
6 RESOLVED, That the report filed with the General Assembly
7shall be filed with the Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk
8of the House of Representatives in electronic form only, in the
9manner that the Secretary and Clerk shall direct; and be it
10further
11 RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet at the call of the
12Board of Education; the Task Force shall submit its findings to
13the General Assembly on or before January 9, 2019, at which
14time the Task Force is dissolved.
