SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Jeffery P. Leonard of Moline, who passed
away on March 15, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard was born in Rockford to Paul and
Edna Carol Albright Leonard on September 10, 1956; he served in
the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and
received his Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois
University; he married Diane Bohms in Lyndon on May 25, 1985;
and
WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard served as a Moline Police Officer
for 29 years, retiring in February of 2014; and
WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard was an avid reader; he enjoyed
going to the movies and spending time with his grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard is survived by his wife, Diane;
his daughters, Monica (Morgan) Harris and Julie Leonard; his
son, Scott Leonard; his grandchildren, Morgan, Jr. and Micah;
his sisters, Jan (Rich) Hillig and Barbara (Marvin) Strickland;
and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Jeffery P. Leonard, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Jeffery Leonard as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
