SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nicola C. "Nick" Viviani of Moline, who
4passed away on March 10, 2016; and
5 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani was born on February 9, 1932 in
6Moline; his parents were Arthur and Mariana Conicelia Viviani;
7he married Ruth Mundell-DeWeerdt on December 30, 1977 in
8Moline; and
9 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani proudly served his country as a
10member of the United States Army; and
11 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani was a graduate of Moline High
12School, where he was an Illinois State Wrestling Championship
13runner-up in 1952; and
14 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani was an employee of IH Farmall and
15Bowe; and
16 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani was a member of the Moline Vikings
17Club, the Friends Circle, and the American Legion; he enjoyed
18fishing, hunting, and going to the casino; and
19 WHEREAS, Nicola Viviani is survived by his wife, Ruth; his

1children, Valarie Sword, Kay (Dale) Olson, and Neil (Sharon)
2DeWeerdt; his 12 grandchildren; his 18 great-grandchildren;
3his brother, Lewis (Irene) Viviani; and his many nieces and
4nephews; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Nicola C. "Nick"
8Viviani; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Nicola Viviani as an expression of
11our sympathy.
