2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John Thomas Beam of Johnsburg, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on October 3, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Beam was born in Canton on November 23, 1941 | ||||||
6 | to Howard and Vera (nee Schoneman) Beam; he married Suzanne | ||||||
7 | Stiglish in Bryant on October 24, 1964; he served in the United | ||||||
8 | States Navy and attended the University of Illinois, graduating | ||||||
9 | with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, John Beam began his career with Baxter & Woodman | ||||||
11 | Consulting Engineers in 1969, and, in the early 1980s, he | ||||||
12 | opened his own engineering firm, Beam Engineering; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, John Beam was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing | ||||||
14 | at Chapel Hill Country Club; he also enjoyed muskie fishing in | ||||||
15 | northern Wisconsin and Canada; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, John Beam was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, John Beam is survived by his wife of nearly 50 | ||||||
19 | years, Suzanne; 3 children, Jennifer (John) O'Connor, Howard | ||||||
20 | Beam, and Jesse (Shyla) Beam; 2 grandchildren, Joslyn Beam and |

2 | (Pat) Beam; and a sister, Judy (Jerry) Yocum; therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | John Thomas Beam, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
