| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Berneice "Essie" Moseby; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Berneice Moseby was born to Rhodie Bell and Oscar | ||||||
| 5 | Lee Mansfield Sr. in Parkdale, Arkansas on May 3, 1946, the | ||||||
| 6 | youngest of nine children; she committed to her faith at an | ||||||
| 7 | early age; she attended Savage Grammar School and
Slack Legrand | ||||||
| 8 | High School in Wilmot, Arkansas; she married Robert Moseby in | ||||||
| 9 | Chicago in 1946; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Berneice Moseby worked at Victor Gasket and as a | ||||||
| 11 | teacher's aide for after-school programs; her main career was | ||||||
| 12 | with the U.S.P.S., and she retired in 2002 after 32 years of | ||||||
| 13 | service; while working for the U.S.P.S, she held many | ||||||
| 14 | positions, including as a 2048 temporary probationary | ||||||
| 15 | supervisor, a key person for the CFC and savings bond drive, a | ||||||
| 16 | forklift operator, and a safety captain; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Berneice Moseby was an active member at New | ||||||
| 18 | Precious Grove
MB Church where she sang in the choir and served | ||||||
| 19 | as the kitchen coordinator on Sundays when they had afternoon | ||||||
| 20 | programs; she was also an Eastern Star member and served in the | ||||||
| 21 | position of Conductress of Leota Chapter #1; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Berneice Moseby loved helping people; she invited | ||||||
| 2 | many into her home and loved them as her own, considering them | ||||||
| 3 | her "god family"; she also loved to cook, dance, sing, mingle, | ||||||
| 4 | and bling; she was the life of many parties; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Berneice was preceded in death by her parents; her | ||||||
| 6 | four brothers, Guy, Oscar Jr., Edward, and Walter; her | ||||||
| 7 | granddaughter, E'licia; and her great-grandson, Sincere; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Berneice Mosey is survived by her two daughters, | ||||||
| 9 | Felicia (Michael) and Carrie; her son, Reginald Sr.; her two | ||||||
| 10 | brothers, Lee and David (Helen); her two sisters, Grady and | ||||||
| 11 | Minnie; her grandchildren, Qiana, Reginald Jr., Michelle | ||||||
| 12 | (Aaron), Lexus (Kendrick Sr.), Malai (Fulton), Vanessa, | ||||||
| 13 | Artavise, Shirley, and Diamon; her great-grandchildren, | ||||||
| 14 | Deveis, Chonnell, Qiarah, Charlie, Ajani, Kamil, Manisha, | ||||||
| 15 | Kendrick II, Jeremiah, Terrance, Adrian, and Sitrele; and her | ||||||
| 16 | abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, extended | ||||||
| 17 | family, and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 20 | Berneice "Essie" Moseby and extend our sincere
condolences to | ||||||
| 21 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it | ||||||
