1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Anna Magdalene Dixon of Auburn, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 5, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon was born in Virden to John J. Madiar | ||||||
6 | and Mary Mildred Havach on May 26, 1925, the seventh of ten | ||||||
7 | children; she married Dale W. Dixon on September 21, 1946; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon worked as a waitress in a restaurant in | ||||||
9 | Virden when she was young; after marrying Dale, she moved to | ||||||
10 | Auburn and worked at the Auburn Market on the Auburn square; | ||||||
11 | she worked as a cashier and in the meat department preparing | ||||||
12 | packages for the customers; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon and her husband were joint Boy Scout | ||||||
14 | masters for over 30 years; they loved the children in Troup 56 | ||||||
15 | and made them part of the family; she and her husband took | ||||||
16 | numerous trips around the country, and one of her favorite | ||||||
17 | places to camp was in the pine tree area at Siloam Springs | ||||||
18 | State Park; the couple also enjoyed making toys in their | ||||||
19 | workshop and spent many hours crafting these toys so that they | ||||||
20 | could then take them to craft shows to sell or give away; and

21 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon was a very loving person and was loved |

1 | by everyone in return; she was a great listener and generous | ||||||
2 | with providing love, comfort, and support; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
4 | Dale; her parents; all of her siblings; her grandson, Todd | ||||||
5 | Dixon; and her great-great-grandson, Lincoln McDermand; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Anna Dixon is survived by her children, James | ||||||
7 | (Linda) Dixon, Marianne (Gordon) Nave, Richard (Cindy) Dixon, | ||||||
8 | and Daniel Dixon; her grandchildren, Dawn Boyd, Ginger Nave, | ||||||
9 | Dutch Nave, Jessica (Dixon) Hollingworth, and Tony Dixon; and | ||||||
10 | her great-grandchildren, Kayla (Boyd) Tomczyk, Jordynn (Boyd) | ||||||
11 | McDermand, Gracy Nave, and Issac Nave; therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Anna Magdalene Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
16 | further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of Anna Dixon as an expression of our | ||||||
19 | deepest sympathy.
