2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Susan (nee Waters) Osta of Forest Park, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on May 20, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Susan Osta was born on April 26, 1943 and raised | ||||||
6 | in Syracuse, New York; she attended Most Holy Rosary School in | ||||||
7 | Syracuse and attended nursing school in Boston, Massachusetts; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Susan Osta moved to Chicago in 1966 and began a | ||||||
10 | nursing career in pediatrics; in 1973, she and her husband | ||||||
11 | settled in Oak Park; after retiring from nursing, she continued | ||||||
12 | to serve and care for others as a nanny, volunteer, and | ||||||
13 | grandmother; she was an active member of the Suburban | ||||||
14 | Fellowship Center in Forest Park for nearly 28 years, and she | ||||||
15 | advocated for those with little voice: children, the homeless, | ||||||
16 | and people in need; and

17 | WHEREAS, Susan Osta was the wife of James; the mother of | ||||||
18 | Kathleen (Tony Smith), Mark (Cynthia), and David (Amanda) Osta; | ||||||
19 | the grandmother of Kaelen and Addison Osta Smith, Allison and | ||||||
20 | Jack Osta, and Seth and Ian Osta; the sister of William | ||||||
21 | (Jeanne), Robert (Linda), Barry (Jacqueline), and Peter | ||||||
22 | (Janet) Waters; aunt to many nieces and nephews; and cousin to |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Susan Osta, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | ||||||
5 | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Susan Osta as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
