2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Torleiv M. Moi of Woodstock, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 24, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi was born on November 27, 1931 in | ||||||
6 | Norway; after growing up in Norway, he immigrated to the United | ||||||
7 | States in 1954; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi served in the Norwegian Army; he also | ||||||
9 | served in the United States Army and was stationed in France; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi worked as a bricklayer for the Local | ||||||
12 | 21 Bricklayer's Union; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi was an avid contract bridge player; he | ||||||
14 | also enjoyed visiting Norway with his family, sometimes for an | ||||||
15 | entire summer; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi was a member of Skjold Lodge No. 5-100 | ||||||
17 | Sons of Norway; he was also a member of the Moose Lodge in | ||||||
18 | Harvard; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Torleiv Moi is survived by his wife of 58 years, |

1 | Astrid Moi; 2 daughters, Torhild (Alvin) Aevermann and Anita | ||||||
2 | (Steven) Lynn; a son, Edmund Moi; 5 grandchildren, Michelle | ||||||
3 | (Dillon) Streit, Jessica Aevermann, Angela (Thomas) Oswald, | ||||||
4 | Vanessa Lynn, and Richard Lynn; and 3 great-grandchildren, | ||||||
5 | Maxden, Malayna, and Maven Streit; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
8 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Torleiv M. Moi; and be | ||||||
9 | it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Torleiv Moi as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | sympathy.
