SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Benjamin Affinito of McHenry, who
4passed away on August 23, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, John Affinito was born on June 18, 1929 in Italy;
6his parents were Antonio and Assunta (nee Sessa) Affinito; he
7married Gina A. Passaro on September 19, 1959 in Chicago; and
8 WHEREAS, John Affinito was a resident of Hebron from 1976
9until moving to McHenry in 1990; he worked as an x-ray
10technician for over 30 years at McHenry Hospital and Memorial
11Hospital for McHenry County; and
12 WHEREAS, John Affinito enjoyed spending time with his
13grandchildren, watching the Chicago Bears, and gardening; and
14 WHEREAS, John Affinito was a member of St. Mary's Church in
15McHenry, where he also served as an usher; he previously
16attended Christ the King Church in Wonder Lake; and
17 WHEREAS, John Affinito was preceded in death by his parents
18and a sister, Anna Ditore; and
19 WHEREAS, John Affinito is survived by his wife of 54 years,

1Gina; 2 children, John C. (Barbara) Affinito and Linda (Brian)
2Anderson; 5 grandchildren, Erica (Dane) Kalisek, Julia
3Affinito, Nicholas Affinito, Gina Anderson, and Jason
4Anderson; a brother, Clement Affinito; and a sister, Dora
5(Vincent) Argentino; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of John Benjamin
9Affinito; and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of John Affinito as an expression of
12our sympathy.
