SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jonathan Alan Curry, who passed away on
4January 21, 2016; and
5 WHEREAS, Jonathan Curry was born on February 7, 1947 in
6Danville; his parents were Ralph D. and Marilyn (nee Etherton)
7Curry; he married Mary Kay Wright on August 21, 1971 in Alton;
8and
9 WHEREAS, Jonathan Curry lived the majority of his childhood
10in Hoopeston; he went on to attend Sterling High School in
11Sterling, earn his Bachelor of Science in Education from
12Illinois State University and his Master of Science in
13Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; and
14 WHEREAS, Jonathan Curry was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul
15Catholic Church; he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and had a
16great love of reading, mainly history books; and
17 WHEREAS, Jonathan Curry was a teacher and school
18administrator in the Alton School District for 33 years,
19retiring in 2002; after retirement, he was a substitute teacher
20until 2010; and

1 WHEREAS, Jonathan Curry is survived by his wife, Mary Kay;
2his sons, Todd Curry, Samuel (Debra) Curry, and Joel (Cynthia)
3Curry; his grandchildren, Abigail, Annaliese, Kathryn,
4Alannah, Austin, and Hannah; he was also a devoted husband,
5father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his aunt,
6Joyce; his uncles, Michael and David; and his many cousins;
7therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Jonathan Alan Curry;
11and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jonathan Curry as an expression of
14our sympathy.
