2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lorraine B. Phillips of Omaha, Nebraska, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on December 19, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Phillips was born on October 27, 1926 in | ||||||
6 | Columbus, Nebraska; her parents were Walter and Sophie | ||||||
7 | Burzynski; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Phillips raised her family in | ||||||
9 | Bloomington and served on many boards, including the | ||||||
10 | Bloomington-Normal Transit Board, at which she implemented the | ||||||
11 | bus service for the disabled and handicapped; in 1986, she | ||||||
12 | moved to Omaha, Nebraska to live closer to her family; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Phillips was preceded in death by her | ||||||
14 | parents; her husband, David J. Phillips; her brother, Father | ||||||
15 | John Kent; and her sisters, Gloria Daughtery, Rita Ballantine, | ||||||
16 | and Rosalie Begley; and

17 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Phillips is survived by her children, | ||||||
18 | Mary (Steve) Gevercer and John (Terri Pruitt) Phillips; her | ||||||
19 | grandsons, Ben, Jonah, and Matthew Gevercer, Megan (Joel | ||||||
20 | Wunderlich) Phillips, and Cody Phillips; her sister, Jane | ||||||
21 | (Bernard) Langan; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
4 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Lorraine B. Phillips; | ||||||
5 | and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Lorraine Phillips as an expression | ||||||
8 | of our sympathy.
