SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Michael Daggett of Colona, who
4passed away on August 13, 2020; and
5 WHEREAS, John Daggett was born to John Morton and Millie
6Lou (Whitlow) Daggett in Moline on August 11, 1959; he served
7in the U.S. Navy for over nine years, serving with the
8International Peacekeeping force in Lebanon and as a Chief
9Master of Arms; and
10 WHEREAS, John Daggett worked for the U.S. Postal Service in
11Milan; he retired in March of 2020; and
12 WHEREAS, John Daggett was a member of the Waterkeeper
13Alliance and of the Colona American Legion; and
14 WHEREAS, John Daggett enjoyed boating, fishing,
15photography, and collecting artifacts; above all else, his
16family was the most important thing to him, especially his
17children; and
18 WHEREAS, John Daggett was preceded in death by his father
19and his brother-in-law, Bart Chilton; and

1 WHEREAS, John Daggett is survived by his two children,
2Elissa (fiancé Christopher Rostenbach) and Theo Daggett; his
3mother, Millie Daggett; and his two sisters, Sherry Chilton and
4Cathy (Dean) Daconto; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7John Michael Daggett and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of John Daggett as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
