2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Glenn W. Sportsman of Elgin, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 18, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was born in Rothville, Missouri to | ||||||
6 | Ernest and Ella Vaughn Sportsman on August 2, 1925; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Elgin High School and served in the United | ||||||
8 | States Army Air Corp during World War II; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was a businessman in Elgin; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was an avid fan of high school | ||||||
11 | basketball; he was an outdoorsman most of his life and enjoyed | ||||||
12 | playing golf; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
14 | parents; his wife, Shirley; his son, Craig; his grandson, T.J.; | ||||||
15 | and his brother, Clyde Sportsman; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman is survived by his children, Linda | ||||||
17 | Benedick, Robin (Ezell) Simon, and Terry (Crystal) Sportsman; | ||||||
18 | his grandchildren, Tia (Dan) Palmiter, Tonsen Sportsman, | ||||||
19 | Carissa Dixon, Adam Simon, Devin Simon, and Corey (Allison) | ||||||
20 | Massa; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Bert |

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Glenn W. Sportsman, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
