| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Ellen K. Schwab of Reddick, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on December 31, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was born to William and Margaret | ||||||
| 6 | (Komnick) Joyce in Kankakee on July 31, 1956; she married | ||||||
| 7 | Charles C. Schwab III in March 1984; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab worked as a media aide and was | ||||||
| 9 | responsible for running literary programs at Reddick | ||||||
| 10 | Elementary School, Herscher Elementary School, and Bonfield | ||||||
| 11 | Elementary School; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab loved reading, spending time with | ||||||
| 13 | her grandchildren, and hiking, and she was especially proud of | ||||||
| 14 | completing a section of the Colorado Trail; she was a foodie | ||||||
| 15 | who enjoyed cooking and sharing that passion with her sons, | ||||||
| 16 | and she was an animal lover; she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan | ||||||
| 17 | who attended 24 Cubs conventions and enjoyed taking her sons | ||||||
| 18 | to opening day games when they were younger; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was preceded in death by her parents | ||||||
| 20 | and her son, Joseph W. "Chef Joey" Schwab; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab is survived by her husband of 40 | ||||||
| 2 | years, Charles; her son, Cliff (Malinda) Schwab; four | ||||||
| 3 | grandchildren; and her sisters, Sue Joyce and Gail Joyce; | ||||||
| 4 | therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Ellen K. Schwab and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
