SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas R. Williams of Fort Mohave,
4Arizona, who passed away on January 20, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Thomas Williams was born in Moline to Ralph and
6Alberta Mills Williams on October 13, 1944; he served in the
7United States Army and married Glenora Leese; later, he married
8Carolyn McFetridge in Rock Island on August 27, 2004; and
9 WHEREAS, Thomas Williams began a lifelong career in law
10enforcement with the Milan Police Department; he then joined
11the Rock Island Police Department and retired in 1989 as a
12deputy lieutenant, following 22 years of public service; and
13 WHEREAS, Thomas Williams enjoyed many outdoor activities,
14including baseball, horseback riding, and scuba diving; and
15 WHEREAS, Thomas Williams was preceded in death by his
16parents and his brother-in-law, James Remy; and
17 WHEREAS, Thomas Williams is survived by his wife, Carolyn;
18his sons, Tyree (Kristin) and Chase (Jennifer) Williams; his
19grandchildren, Thomas, Clayton, Carter, Noah, Sydnee, Taylor,
20and Peyton Grace Williams; his siblings, Joyce Remy, Daniel

2Harriott; and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family;
3therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Thomas R. Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Thomas Williams as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
