SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of George W. Keckler Jr. of Taylor Ridge,
4who passed away on November 14, 2022; and
5 WHEREAS, George Keckler was born to George W. Keckler Sr.
6and Lois F. Newberry Keckler in Iowa City, Iowa on December 11,
71933; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he
8married Peggy B. Simon in Springfield on February 8, 1969; and
9 WHEREAS, George Keckler worked as a groundskeeper at the
10Isle of Capri Casino, Bettendorf; he had previously worked for
11Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf; and
12 WHEREAS, George Keckler was an avid bowler and enjoyed
13gardening; and
14 WHEREAS, George Keckler was preceded in death by his
15parents; his wife; and several siblings; and
16 WHEREAS, George Keckler is survived by his children and
17their spouses, Greg and Connie Duffield, Diana and Michael
18Skidmore, Deeni Leake, Daniel and Cynthia Duffield, Billy and
19Debra Duffield, Brenda and James Bowen, George A. and Shannon
20Keckler, Lisa and Pat West, Keith and Sherry Reed, Craig and

1Wendy McBee, and Theresa and Clark Brain; his many
2grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; and several
3siblings; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6George W. Keckler Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of George Keckler as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
