2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of George W. Keckler Jr. of Taylor Ridge, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on November 14, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, George Keckler was born to George W. Keckler Sr. | ||||||
6 | and Lois F. Newberry Keckler in Iowa City, Iowa on December 11, | ||||||
7 | 1933; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he | ||||||
8 | married Peggy B. Simon in Springfield on February 8, 1969; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, George Keckler worked as a groundskeeper at the | ||||||
10 | Isle of Capri Casino, Bettendorf; he had previously worked for | ||||||
11 | Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, George Keckler was an avid bowler and enjoyed | ||||||
13 | gardening; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, George Keckler was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | parents; his wife; and several siblings; and

16 | WHEREAS, George Keckler is survived by his children and | ||||||
17 | their spouses, Greg and Connie Duffield, Diana and Michael | ||||||
18 | Skidmore, Deeni Leake, Daniel and Cynthia Duffield, Billy and | ||||||
19 | Debra Duffield, Brenda and James Bowen, George A. and Shannon | ||||||
20 | Keckler, Lisa and Pat West, Keith and Sherry Reed, Craig and |

2 | grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; and several | ||||||

5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
