2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Roger D. Nevins of Silvis, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 10, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Roger Nevins was born to Oliver and Audrey | ||||||
6 | (Stout) Nevins in East Moline on October 11, 1932; he was | ||||||
7 | drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952, serving in the Korean | ||||||
8 | Conflict and spending some time in Japan; he married Joyce | ||||||
9 | Anne Hoyt in Carbon Cliff on December 14, 1951; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Roger Nevins worked at International Harvester, | ||||||
11 | John Deere Malleable, and John Deere Harvester, retiring in | ||||||
12 | 1988; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Roger Nevins loved the outdoors, hunting, | ||||||
14 | fishing, gardening, and mowing; he also enjoyed coaching his | ||||||
15 | grandchildren; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Roger Nevins was preceded in death by his | ||||||
17 | parents; his son, Calvin Nevins; his daughter-in-law, Karen | ||||||
18 | Nevins; and his sisters, Margaret Davis, Betty Terrant, and | ||||||
19 | Lois Conkle; and

20 | WHEREAS, Roger Nevins is survived by his wife; his son, |

2 | Buffington, Cori Nevins, Jenna (Ethan) Lardner, and Ben | ||||||

4 | sister, Beverly Skelton; and his brother, Billy (Barb) Nevins; | ||||||

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
