SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Kathleen Bartley of Oak Park, who
passed away on March 27, 2024 at the age of 71; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley was born to James and Vera
McAuley; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley graduated from Addison Trail
High School in 1970; she earned an undergraduate degree in
education from Illinois State University and a master's degree
in special education from Rosary College; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley taught special education in
Chicago, Oak Park, Cicero, and Berwyn; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley and her family enjoyed sailing
on Lake Michigan in their sailboat and would often sail from
Chicago to Mackinac Island; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley loved her children, Megan and
Brian, born in 1980 and 1986 respectively, who were the joys of
her life; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Bartley is survived by her husband of

nearly 46 years, Dennis; her children, Megan and Brian (Alexa
Humman); her siblings, Michael (Jean), Judy Kobus, Suzanne
McAuley, Mary (Mike) Gerhard, and Lori Carr; her grandchild,
James; 25 nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and
grandnephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the
passing of Kathleen Bartley and extend our sincere condolences
to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
it further
