| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Willie James Bowdry Jr., who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on September 26, 2004; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry was born to Mary Lucille Starks | ||||||
| 6 | Bowdry and Willie James Bowdry Sr. in Steele, Missouri on | ||||||
| 7 | December 5, 1950; he graduated from Rock Island High School; | ||||||
| 8 | he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Virginia | ||||||
| 9 | "Ginny" Tolefree on April 26, 2008; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry worked for John Deere for over 35 | ||||||
| 11 | years, retiring in 2010; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry will be remembered for his legacy | ||||||
| 13 | of love, strength, and dedication; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 15 | parents; his siblings, Willie "Pete" Tucker, Larry R. Bowdry, | ||||||
| 16 | Katie M. McBride, and Catherine Moore; his mother-in-law, | ||||||
| 17 | Gratha Tolefree; and his other in-laws; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry is survived by his wife, Virginia | ||||||
| 19 | Tolefree Bowdry; his brother, Gerald (Shelia) Bowdry; his | ||||||
| 20 | children, Marlon Gardner, Davian Giles, Lasondra Carter, and | ||||||

| 1 | Tamikka Elliott; seven grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, | ||||||
| 2 | Alice (Cornelius) Emory, Elizabeth (Johnny) Price, and | ||||||
| 3 | Katherine Tolefree; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, | ||||||
| 4 | and friends; therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
