2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Chief Master Sergeant James R. "Bob" | ||||||
4 | Flynn of Springfield, who passed away on June 4, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn was born in Springfield to James T. | ||||||
6 | and Helen (Barrett) Flynn in December of 1934; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in 1952; he | ||||||
8 | married Betty Wagner on November 30, 1963; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn served in the Illinois Air National | ||||||
10 | Guard as a member of the 183rd Tactical Fighter unit in | ||||||
11 | Springfield; he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 37 | ||||||
12 | years of service; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn was devoted to his faith and was a | ||||||
14 | member of St. Joseph's Parish in Springfield; he enjoyed | ||||||
15 | bowling, playing pinochle with his friends, and watching | ||||||
16 | sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals; he loved his dogs | ||||||
17 | and bird; he was known for being quick with a joke or a witty | ||||||
18 | retort; and

19 | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn is survived by his wife of 56 years, | ||||||
20 | Bertha M. "Betty" Flynn; his children, Sheri (Brian) McMillan, | ||||||
21 | Jeff Flynn, Monty (Priscilla) Flynn, Catherine (Mike) |

10 | Chief Master Sergeant James R. "Bob" Flynn and extend our | ||||||
11 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
