| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Clint Matthew Jones of Maryville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 3, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones was born in Benton on September 26, | ||||||
6 | 1975; he married Heather Mueller on November 4, 2006; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones worked for the Village of Maryville | ||||||
8 | for over 14 years; he was
elected to the Madison County Board | ||||||
9 | for District 27 in 2016; as a county board member, he served as | ||||||
10 | the chairman of
the Facilities Management Committee and Sewer | ||||||
11 | Facilities Committee
and served on the Executive, Grants, and | ||||||
12 | Transportation Committees; he also helped in the campaigns of | ||||||
13 | his friends and
colleagues; he was vice chairperson for the | ||||||
14 | Madison County Republican
Party and precinct committeeman for | ||||||
15 | Collinsville Township; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones was a member and past
president of the | ||||||
17 | Maryville Kiwanis; he was a member of the Collinsville Masonic
| ||||||
18 | Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Fire
Pension Board, as well | ||||||
19 | as liaison for Cub
Scout Pack 4081; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones loved his family and his community; he | ||||||
21 | never knew a
stranger and selflessly gave to others, whether it |

1 | was by taking food to
Kreitner School for children in need, | ||||||
2 | serving on a committee to better the
lives of the residents of | ||||||
3 | the Village of Maryville and Madison County,
moving a hospital | ||||||
4 | bed, or simply helping a friend; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones loved to hunt with his trusty dog, | ||||||
6 | Hank, and they would
spend hours hunting alone or with friends; | ||||||
7 | he always gave
Hank a double cheeseburger on the way home from | ||||||
8 | a hunt; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones was kind, loyal, and nurturing; he | ||||||
10 | wanted to leave a strong foundation for his boys and teach them | ||||||
11 | how to
be great men; in that endeavor, he has left a lasting | ||||||
12 | impression on
everyone who knew him; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones was preceded in death by his | ||||||
14 | grandparents, Lewis and Verna Miles
and Fred and Marjorie | ||||||
15 | Jones; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Clint Jones is survived by his wife,
Heather; his | ||||||
17 | children, Merin Gibson, Luke Jones, and Maddox Jones; his | ||||||
18 | mother, Beverly
(Jim) Eldridge; his father, Lowell (Linda) | ||||||
19 | Jones; his brother, Jonathan (Kelly) Jones; his nieces and
| ||||||
20 | nephew, Riley and Ashley Jones and Kyle Fricker; his | ||||||
21 | father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kurt and Terri
Mueller; his | ||||||
22 | brothers-in-law, Chad Mueller and Kurt
Nathan Mueller |

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Clint Matthew Jones and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Clint Jones as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
